Dear friends of Dhamma,
The teleconference on Saturday, September 13, 2008, 7:00PM-9:00PM (EST), will be moderated and led by Ven. Y. Sankichcha from Great Lakes Buddhist Vihara, MI, USA.
This Dhamma Discussion will be based on “Vitakkasanthana Sutta — The Relaxation of Thoughts” (found in Majjhima Nikaya, 20th discourse). In this particular discourse, The Buddha offers five practical methods of responding wisely to unskillful thoughts. They are: replacing an unwholesome thought with a wholesome thought; examining the danger of the distracting thought; forgetting the thought; stilling the unwholesome thought formation; crushing mind with mind to forcefully drive away the unwholesome thought.
